Emily Vallario is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her degree in Social Work from NYU.  Emily is a seven- year veteran of Scarsdale Edgemont Family Counseling Service’s Youth Service Project, maintaining the position of Youth Outreach Worker on the Middle School level.  Emily’s experience has led her to become an expert in working with adolescents and their families.  In addition to providing individual and group counseling at the middle school, Emily facilitates Young Women in Leadership and Peer Leadership.  Emily also serves as the Coordinator for Parent Support Groups. Andrew Weisfeld is a Nationally Certified Counselor and a New York State Certified School Counselor who received his master’s degree in Counselor Education from the College of New Jersey.  Andrew has been a Youth Outreach Worker for three years as part of Scarsdale Edgemont Family Counseling Youth Service Project.  In addition to providing individual and group counseling at the middle school, Andrew facilitates Parent Support Groups and also the Young Men in Leadership Program on Friday nights at Scarsdale Middle School.  Andrew can be reached at directly at 721-2632 or at SFCS at 723-3281.

Leah Kaplan has worked as a Youth Outreach Worker on the middle school level for the past three years.  Leah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and received her Masters from Columbia University.  Leah is also a substance abuse counselor, CASAC, and her expertise includes substance abuse prevention and education to middle school students.  Leah is also available for individual drug and alcohol evaluations for teens as needed.  Leah facilitates the Peer Leadership program as well as providing individual and group counseling.  Leah Kaplan can be reached at SMS at 721-2664 and at SFCS at 723-3281.

Lauren Pomerantz is part of the Youth Outreach Worker team at the High School Level.  This is her second year at Scarsdale Edgemont Family Counseling Service.  Lauren is a Licensed Social Worker and received her Masters from New York University.  Lauren is excited to continue her work with the Women in Leadership Program, Scarsdale Coalition Against Family Violence, and the Athletic Department, where she serves as a Consultant to the Athletic Code.  Lauren can be reached at 721-2468.

Stephen Muggeo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who attained his Masters from Fordham University. Stephen provides Youth Outreach on the High School Level.  Stephen’s career has been devoted to helping adolescents and their parents navigate the transition to young adulthood.  Stephen returns to SFCS after a six year hiatus during which time he maintained a private practice of psychotherapy for adolescents, adults and families.  In addition to group and individual counseling, Stephen co-facilitates the Peer Counseling Program at Scarsdale High School.  He also has a passion for outdoor sports, experiential counseling and Adventure Based Programs.  Stephen can be reached directly at his office in the high school at 721-2675.
