Supporting Drug & Alcohol-Free Attitudes and Habits   


The Scarsdale Task Force has provided cards titled, "Alcohol Poisoning - What Should You Do For Alcohol Poisoning?" for Scarsdale High School students and for 7th and 8th grade students at Scarsdale Middle School.  The cards were given to seniors prior to spring break.  7th - 11th grade students will receive the cards soon.  Please take some time to read over the information contained on the card (below) and share this important information with your family.

ALCOHOL POISONING
What are the "Danger of Death" Signs?
• If your friend is breathing abnormally or stops breathing for periods of 10 seconds or more
• If your friend is asleep and can't be awakened
• If your friend’s skin is cold, clammy, pale, or bluish in color

THIS IS A LIFE-OR-DEATH EMERGENCY
WHAT SHOLD YOU DO FOR ALCOHOL POISONING?
• Turn your friend on his/her side to prevent choking
• Keep your friend awake and warm
• Don’t walk your friend around or give him/her food, liquid or medicine
• Don’t give your friend a cold shower
• Stay with your friend and check breathing
• Use CPR if your friend stops breathing
